APEC e-Commerce Business Alliance has attended APEC 23rd Electronic Commerce Steering Group Meeting


APEC 23rd Electronic Commerce Steering Group Meeting (ECSG) was held on Washington DC, United States on March 4th – 6th, 2011. Mr. Nianlu Zhang, the Secretary-General of APEC Electronic Commerce Business Alliance and Ms. Li Wang, the Executive Secretary-General attended the meeting.

Meeting debriefed the working report from ECSG Chair for the 22nd meeting. The Chairs of Data Privacy and Paperless Trading Sub-groups' also reported their working plan of 2011, Issues under discussion included: developments in relation to the APEC Digital Prosperity Checklist; the ECSG's contribution to APEC Second Trade Facilitation Action Plan (TFAP II); and individual action plans for information privacy and paperless trading.

Alliance’s delegate also reported the project of “APEC E-Trade and Supply Chain Management Training Course” in ECSG Plenary Meeting and Paperless Trading Sub-groups. US, Canada, Korea, Japan, Philippines and other economies have highly appreciated Alliance’s work, and they thought that the “Training Course” has contributed to the development of e-commerce and modern logistics in APEC Region, and helped the enterprises to enhance their key competitiveness in the market. Meanwhile, Alliance has submitted a new proposal on “APEC Symposium on Promoting Cross-Border Trade Online”, and all attendees put forward their advices and suggests.

During the Meeting, Alliance has positively exchanged ideas with delegates from member economies and other international organizations. Alliance hoped that these kinds of projects can expand the influence of ECBA to achieve the goal of strengthening cooperation with other member economies; integrating domestic and foreign resources; leading and accelerating the whole development of e-commerce.
